WHAT THE EXERCISE UNCOVERS: Teamwork, collaboration, a common goal and a planned approach to problem solving are discussed in this highly interactive session. Although the simulation is not introduced as a competition, it often becomes a race, with each team trying to be the first to return to England and save the world.  By the end they discover that it isn't competition, it's collaboration that allows them to complete their mission. Leadership and commuications are key elements. A great stand alone, 7 Seas Quest is also an excellent follow on to "Lost Dutchman" or the "Gold " exercises.

Linking The 7 Seas Quest: to Organizational Improvement:

Teams learn best when they can experience issues of communication, resource management and team dynamics that are common to the workplace. Buccaneer is a great way for them to do that in a neutral, non threatening environment. Collaboration is the ONLY WAY they (and their organization) can succeed! Excellent links for organizations using Covey's 7 Habits.
